Virginia 4-Hour Supplemental Reckless & Aggressive
Driver Education Program ( RADEP )
The 4-Hour Supplemental Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) is for drivers who have already completed an 8-Hour Driver Improvement Clinic with our school or another school, but later learn that they must complete the full 12-hour RADEP course.
Already Completed Your 8-Hour Driver Improvement Course?
We accept 8-Hour Virginia Driver Improvement Clinic certificates of completion from other schools.
If you have already completed the 8-hour Driver Improvement portion with another school and now need the additional 4-hour Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) course, you do not have to repeat the 8-hour course with us. You may register for our 4-Hour Supplemental Online RADEP Course to complete the remaining portion of your 12-hour RADEP requirement, provided your court, attorney, or referring authority accepts your previous 8-hour certificate and permits online completion.

What Will I Learn in the 4-Hour RADEP Course?
This 4-hour class focuses on reckless and aggressive driving. Students learn:
- Why drivers sometimes make unsafe or risky choices
- How emotions, stress, anger, and pressure can affect driving
- How to recognize unsafe driving habits
- How to make safer decisions behind the wheel
- How to reduce the risk of crashes
The course goes beyond simply reviewing traffic laws. It helps students understand why risky driving happens and what they can do to change those behaviors.
Students take part in short activities, discussions, and self-assessments. These activities help students think about their own driving habits and understand how repeated unsafe choices can begin to feel normal.
The course also teaches the difference between feeling safe and actually being safe. Students learn how emotions, habits, stress, and poor judgment can affect the decisions they make while driving.
A major part of the course focuses on behavior and decision-making. Students learn how anger, stress, the need for control, peer pressure, and the desire for freedom can influence driving behavior.
By the end of the course, students should have a better understanding of their own driving choices and practical ways to become safer, calmer, and more responsible drivers.

This Course Does Not Award Virginia DMV +5 Safe Driving Points
This course is NOT intended for Virginia DMV credit and does not award +5 safe driving points. This course is NOT intended for Virginia DMV credit and does not award +5 safe driving points. It provides the 4-hour supplemental Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education component for qualifying students who have already completed an acceptable 8-hour Driver Improvement Course. When accepted by the court or referring authority, the two components may be used to complete the full 12-hour RADEP requirement.
Confirm You Court Accepts Online RADEP Before Registering
It is your responsibility to determine if your court requires in person / classroom courses , or if they accept online courses. You should always check with your court prior to registering for a RADEP course to ensure they accept online courses to satisfy the RADEP requirement. Most courts do accept online courses, but there are a few courts who may require you to take an in-person course.

Can I take your 4-hour RADEP course if I completed my 8-hour Driver Improvement course with another school?
Yes. Driver Training Solutions LLC accepts qualifying 8-Hour Virginia Driver Improvement Clinic certificates of completion from other schools.
- If you have already completed an acceptable 8-hour Driver Improvement course and now need the additional 4-hour Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) component, you may take our Virginia 4-Hour Supplemental Online RADEP Course without repeating the 8-hour course with us.
- Before registering, make sure your court, attorney, or referring authority will accept both your previously completed 8-hour course and an online 4-hour supplemental RADEP course for your particular case.
Is the 4-hour RADEP course the complete 12-hour RADEP program?
No. The 4-Hour Supplemental RADEP Course is only the additional 4-hour reckless and aggressive driving education component. It is intended for students who have already completed an acceptable 8-Hour Virginia Driver Improvement Course and need the additional 4-hour RADEP component to complete a 12-hour RADEP requirement.
- If you have been ordered or advised to complete the full 12-Hour Virginia Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) and have not already completed an acceptable 8-hour Driver Improvement course, do not register for the 4-hour course by itself. You may need to complete the full 12-hour RADEP program instead.
Does the 4-hour online RADEP course give me +5 Virginia DMV safe-driving points?
No. The 4-Hour Online Supplemental RADEP Course does not award +5 Virginia DMV safe-driving points and is not intended as a standalone Virginia DMV Driver Improvement Clinic for DMV point credit.
- Virginia DMV safe-driving points may be associated with successful completion of a qualifying 8-hour Virginia Driver Improvement Clinic, depending on the reason you are attending and other DMV or court requirements. The 4-hour RADEP portion is supplemental reckless and aggressive driving education and should not be taken solely for the purpose of obtaining DMV safe-driving points.
Will my Virginia court accept an online 4-hour RADEP course?
Court acceptance of online RADEP courses varies. Some Virginia courts or referring authorities may accept an online 4-hour supplemental RADEP course, while others may require the RADEP portion to be completed in a classroom.
- Because requirements can vary by court and by individual case, you should confirm acceptance with your court, attorney, probation officer, or other referring authority before registering for the Virginia 4-Hour Online RADEP Course.
- It is the student's responsibility to determine whether online RADEP completion will satisfy the requirement for their particular case.
What if I have not completed an 8-hour Driver Improvement course?
If you have not already completed an acceptable 8-Hour Virginia Driver Improvement Course, the 4-Hour Supplemental RADEP Course by itself does not constitute the complete 12-hour RADEP program.
- If your court, attorney, or referring authority has instructed you to complete a 12-Hour Virginia RADEP Course, you may need to complete the full 12-hour program rather than registering for only the 4-hour supplemental portion.
- Before registering, review the instructions you received from the court or your attorney. If you are unsure whether you need the 8-hour Driver Improvement Course, the 4-hour Supplemental RADEP Course, or the complete 12-hour RADEP Program, confirm the requirement before making your course selection.
Can I complete the Virginia 4-hour online RADEP course on my own schedule?
Yes. The Virginia 4-Hour Supplemental Online RADEP Course is designed to provide flexible online access. After registering and receiving access to the course, you can complete the required lessons and quizzes online.
- You may log in and out as needed and continue from where you stopped, allowing you to work through the course around your work, family, and personal schedule.
- Students should still make sure they allow enough time to complete the course and receive their certificate before any deadline established by their court, attorney, or referring authority.
How will I receive my 4-hour RADEP completion certificate?
After you successfully complete the Virginia 4-Hour Online Supplemental RADEP Course and all required course components, your certificate of completion is processed and sent to you by email.
- You should review your name and other information carefully when registering so your completion certificate can be prepared correctly.
- Once you receive your certificate, follow the instructions provided by your
court, attorney, probation officer, or referring authority for submitting proof that you completed the required 4-hour RADEP course.
