RADEP : 12 Hour Reckless Aggressive Driver Education Program
This 12-hour reckless / aggressive driver education program
consists of two parts. The first session is a traditional 8-hour Virginia driver improvement program. The second 4-hour virginia reckless / aggressive driver education
session focuses on reckless driving, aggressive driving, road rage and anger management. Persons assigned to this program by the court have usually committed an offense such as reckless driving which doesn't involve the use of alcohol.
4 Hour Reckless
A unique 4-hour behavioral focused session based on the National Safety Council’s Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving that addresses the many causes of reckless or aggressive driving and focuses on methods used to avoid situations which encourage dangerous driving behavior.
The Virginia Driver Improvement Program is an 8-hour classroom driver improvement course course
that will add up to +5 safe driving points to your driving record upon completion. You may also qualify for an insurance discount depending on your insurance provider. This course will also meet court requirements. This program will teach you defensive driving strategies and Virginia traffic laws to help you become a safer driver!
RADEP
This program is for drivers who have engaged in acts of reckless driving such as following too closely, failing to yield, improper lane changing, improper passing, disobeying signs and signals, and speeding, especially in relation to road and traffic conditions. These behaviors may lead to crashes, collisions, especially at intersections and road rage.
RADEP is a 12-hour program offered for persons charged with non-alcohol related reckless and/or aggressive driving offenses. The program is presented in one 8-hour session (Segment One) and one 4-hour session (Segment Two).
Segment One: Driver Improvement Program (DIP)
This 8-hour segment is based on the Virginia DMV's approved AAA Driver Improvement Curriculum. Attendance and successful completion of this 8-hour segment is a prerequisite to participate in the 4-hour Reckless Aggressive session.
Segment Two: RADEP
This 4-hour segment addresses the many causes of reckless/aggressive driving and teaches methods to avoid situations which encourage dangerous driving behavior, including distracted driving. The participant will learn skills which can be used in everyday driving situations to safely negotiate the crowded roadways of Virginia.
The RADEP curriculum is for drivers typically charged with non-alcohol related reckless and / or aggressive driving offenses. RADEP is a unique two day, in-person 12 hour driver education and training seminar consisting of two parts. The first session ( part 1) is a traditional 8-hour Virginia DMV driver improvement class. The second session (part 2) is a 4-hour National Safety Council course which focuses on reckless driving, aggressive driving, road rage and anger management. You must complete (part 1) the eight (8) hour Driver Improvement Course before your can attend (part 2), the 4 hour segment of the course. Please note that there are no options for taking either of these classes online or with another company. All students must complete BOTH parts of the RADEP course with our school.
